We recently went on a Garden Centre ‘crawl’ from Lagos to Faro. This was the best stocked. The staff were very polite and helpful. So, they got the main part of our budget. There was a good variety of both indoor and outdoor plants, in good condition and some at half the price of the other Garden Centres!
Bought large pots and delivery in less than 24 hours. Pablo the service was brilliant thank you. The prices for these large pots is excellent
Amazing lion statue delivered in 2 days and positioned with consummate skill by the crane truck driver. Service and value par excellence

In general, we like shopping at Continente Bom Dia. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful and they have many of the day-to-day basics.
However, there are a few things that desperately need improving …
1. I know that the ‘Bom Dia’ stores are smaller than many Continentes, but the selection does not compare to the nearby Pingo Doce and Aldi.
2. Staff need to learn some manners and receive ‘customer service’ training. I cannot tell you how many times employees cut in front of me around the store, some nearly pushing me out of the way to get wherever it is they are going. Customers come first and staff should be more polite when out around customers in the store, making way for us rather than expecting us to get out of their way. This is not just a Continente problem, it is a Portuguese problem, because I experience this contempt for customers nearly everywhere I go.
3. There is not a single employee that speaks English. I understand that we live in Portugal and not everyone is expected to speak English or other languages, but this store is in an area frequented by an enormous number of tourists, especially in summer, most of whom do not speak Portuguese and the majority of which speak at least some English. WHich brings me to my final point.
We live across the street from Continente Bom Dia in Olhao. It is impossible for us regular customers to find a parking place to shop there because the store manager does not control the parking lots, allowing well over 100 cars of tourists going to the islands and the area to block the spaces all day long in the summer (see photos).
In the off-season, as you can see from the photos, there is hardly ever a car in the rooftop lot and there are. never more than 25-30 ACTUAL customers in the building during the summer. We, actual customers, cannot find a parking place because of this absurd practice, so where are we supposed to park?
Management should post a one hour time limit for ‘customer’ parking and threaten vehicles ‘will be towed’ if the time limit is exceeded, then, mark tires with chalk and tow offenders. This practice would stop very quickly if management was concerned about regular customers and implemented an effective deterrent.

The staff in the wells pharmacy is the worest experience i have had in portugal … I went there on 12 feb about 13:20… No customer service.. rude…. Every amswer to the question was no… I asked something that was there tje answer was still noo … Disappointed ..

My wife was using her phone to translate the wording in the packaging and was told by the security guard she wasn’t allowed to use her phone that way and had to stop. She politely explained she was trying to translate the ingredients but the guard from a company called Shield didn’t help but told her to put her phone away. This is incredible that he wouldn’t allow someone to do this. Clearly he wasn’t friendly to tourists. Suggest avoid this store altogether or Continente needs to change their security company.
Never had this problem ever before or since thankfully.
Total imbecils at coffee corner. Coffee with pastel de nata 1.20 euro. So y think thats a good deal… but after ordering coffe with milk 2,35 !!!! Suddenly pastel de nata 1,20… i should have asked for the free coffe then.
Out of Lidl, Inter Marche, I would say this Continent was the best balanced store with different products. Nice and clean, plenty of choice in different departments. Became the first choice for us on our trip.

Large garden center with a nice selection of plants and succulents large and small. There is also garden furniture, pots and plant stands. Good selection of different types of bagged soil, fertilizers, and sprays. Prices are a bit on the high side.
Wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants, from tiny to massive! They’re all in great condition and there’s lots of decoration to get for your garden, even fishes!
The name says it all. Gigantic garden center
With sculptures, plants, garden ornaments and succulents. You gotta stop by well worth a visit

Here you’ll find a great variety of quality food, the service is good. I was expelled because him had my tiny dog on my lap, which I didn’t want to leave in the car. Which will happen in most places in Portugal.
Pleasant experience. Movement is fluid, eventhough corridors are a little straight. They have practically all you need and prices aren’t too bad. Quite a few promotions help overall
A nice supermarket just outside Olhao with a wide range of food and non-food products. We were looking for an additional suitcase and were very happy to find one in promotion.

the service is not at the right level, the staff is very slow, often rude, and clearly does not want to help, not sure if this is connected to the low pay, too much work or anything else, but it is always a pain and we stopped going there. In regards to food quality – the same as everywhere, lots of food additives, not fresh, fruit and veggies covered with pesticides and full of nitrates.
I don’t like the the service that we have to take a trolly while going into and also we need to take another trolly while taking goods to home . Is this is a new rule I will never go to the auchan last day . We bought thing for 117EUR and they give facility like this we need to wait for 20min in the cash counter
Don’t buy an electric scooter here! especially not the urban glide ones. They break and auchan won’t honor the warranty. The email customer service will ignore you and the store manager won’t help either. For groceries it’s ok but don’t buy anything electronic from auchan!

Ordered online delivery for 29th December 2023. Order did not arrive (delivery driver said he could not find our house). Driver said he tried to phone….no missed calls here. Got e-mail to say we need to pick Order up at store. My wife went to the store on 30th December at 10.30 am. Very helpful lady at customer services phoned the online people who said they could not find our order, despite being given the purchase code. They offered to do a new order and deliver it next day (New Years eve)…..which was pointless if they say they couldn’t find our home. My wife had no alternative but to cancel the order, but has not been offered a refund. We do not believe they had even made the order up, never mind tried to deliver it. Very, very poor service. No service in fact ! Would strongly advise Continente customers not to use their online service. Disgraceful !
The store is absolutely giant, and goes on for miles. Due to this the range of products is huge, they have pretty much everything you’d want from a store like this. It was very busy despite how large the store is, it still manages to get filled with people. It takes a while to get through the store and see everything, but the isles are well labeled throughout. There are many checkouts and self checkouts, although there was still a fair wait before being able to purchase items.
Absolutely huge store, deck chairs, fresh fish counter (largest I’ve ever seen apart from a fish market but I didn’t get the hang of the queuing system), plates, cups, pastries, toiletries, clothes, lots of fresh fruit and veg, impressive cake section. Loads of parking, a euro for your trolley, lots of other stores in the centre.

This is a large Continente and you will find everything you need here in one stop. They even have baking and gardening supplies which was a pleasant surprise!
If you are looking for gourmet food like foie gras and smoked wild-caught salmon, this is where you will find it.
Great shop. Massive selection of products helpful staff, covered parking good offers on there products. Also stock seasonal products like fable and chairs and sun loungers in the summer. Fresh produce, bakery, fish counter, meat counter and international products
Coming with my bike, so bad experience no parking for bikes. The place is there but used for trolleys. The plots are there but they are only for showing not useful. Avoid they only want cars

We love shopping here, the only issue is the trollies. We park underneath and come up in the lift, we walk in one side, but we have to go all the way to the above ground car park by Starbucks to get a trolley. After we have shopped, I have to wander around underground looking for a trolley bay, there are none on one side. My mum is nearly 80, it is a lot of walking.
Fantastic example of all in one supermarket. There are restaurants almost 20 of them, serving almost every type of food. There are dessert shops, especially the ice bars. There are supermarkets, phramcy, optician, money changers etc. There is a big underground car park free for customers. There is cinema as well. Overall the vibe of this place is really nice.
Wanted to return Soda Stream bottles and get my money back. But at Auchan this is only possible when you swap for new bottles. I don’t want this expensive system anymore. Now get stuck with 3 bottles/ 45 euros. Bad service from Auchan. Lost a very loyal customer.

As far as supermarkets are concerned, this one has it all starting with a clothing section, seafood area, meat section, pastry area, breads and a vast section of wines and liquers. I must admit their take away food was not as good and extensive as Pingo Dove’s, but at least they offer it. Prices are a bit better than Pingo Doce and they are much much larger so offer a lot more produce and frozen food items. It all depends what you are looking for, but if you want to cook, this place has everything you need. If you don’t want to cook, stay with the Pingo Doce take out prepared foods.
This supermarket uses Fila Unica, a single long line for all cashiers. They promise it to be simple, easy, and above all, faster. In practice it’s non of that.
I get it. I was taught this single file theory too in statistics 101. It works great for places where you take a number and wait. But there’s a reason almost no supermarket checkouts use it.
It’s people. People in line don’t behave like peons in a theoretical simulation. A single person not paying attention now jams 10 cashiers instead of just 1.
