As most Germans would agree, Tegut is an expensive supermarket. However, unless it really is your local, then you’ve got no choice. However this location is one of the decent-sized and well-stocked ones.

We wandered here a little bit after Christmas and it was quite busy with people stocking with goods before New Year’s Eve. I decided to go here because the Tegut on Voltastrasse was closed for the renovations.

Have to say though, was happy that I did, as it was much bigger than I imagined. Also considering this is a pandemic time, there was plenty of space so you can keep social distancing. Also for depositing empty bottles there are two machines, one when you enter and one when you walk further into the supermarket.

There was a lot of choice and the lines to pay moved pretty quickly.

If you decide to drive here, there is some street parking nearby.

The store is clean and very organized. You definitely get for what you pay here as the quality is fairly good. However, it is rather pricey compared to Rewe. The produce stocked here is mostly organic. The fish and meat counters are rather small but you’ll find the essentials here. They do have a loyalty program but you’ll have to spend at least 25EUR to save 2% and they’ll give you coupons occasionally.

The place has overall good products – but the management is a disaster. All Monday mornings – the fruits are vegetables are usually only stocked in the shelves after 09:30. In a supermarket that opens at 07:00.
Sometimes you cannot even walk at the entrance with the huge piles of fruits/vegs still to be put in their place.

Superb quality and amazing quality/ price relationship if you are looking for great ingredients. From your basic condiment selection to meat and fish, you have it all and staff readily available to help you in case of doubt.
Clearly the perfect place to go buy if you are planning the perfect birthday party, Christmas or New Year’s for family and friends.

Grocery – good options, very good salad items, variety of cheese and too many meat options. Good house hold items.
Restaurant – minimal options b veg available and good taste.
Restrooms – were clean
Parking – available
Cab – not available, we waited almost 1 hours for a cab person to accept our request.
Nice walk from a bus station

Nice supermarket where you can get everything you need. The parking lot in front of the market is rather small. Inside, everything is nicely arranged plus many smaller stores and take aways along the market. The staff inside is nice and welcoming. So don’t hesitate and swing in, it’s quite worth a shot.
