Sometimes, you go into an establishment and just get lucky with being served by the right employee. While this store was very nice with great selections and was also very clean, the best asset was a nice young man working in the deli/coffee shop. I didn’t get his name, but he did a wonderful job of helping customers and making sure we had a great experience. Thanks, Auchan!
Good accessibility, modern, well maintained and clean, with a wide variety of shops, including a large supermarket, excellent dining area and cinemas. It’s right next to the football stadium, swimming pools and sports facilities and the whole area is pleasent. It may get too crowded on match days but it usually is good for a nice window shopping.
Without any doubt, this shopping center is one of the best ones in Coimbra!

This real super store is the largest store of this zone where we can find almost every daily life products even some Asian spices.

Structure a bit aged. Shopping carts burnt from the sun and with wheels damaged. Parking area with pot holes and beggars walking around harassing shoppers.
The shop itself was ok, with most product tidy however, the tills were only run by 3 checkouts causing queues with over 5 people each.
Continente is also enticing children by stocking sweets only at the tills, going against the European law of promoting health by stopping tills from having sugary and carbs products.
All in all, not recommended but not entirely a bad experience.
3 stars as technically the shop upkeeps their product and staff is polite, but it’s not enough as we have to get there by driving and the car park is not at all nice, with shady characters allowed in the property etc.
3rd time its happened with me I arrived between 3-4 pm to the Marinha Grande Continente, and I was staying in the line 25 mins – 30 mins because 2 cashier were open for all the customers, and I could not use the own paying line because I had carry with me. They should improve their service to the customers. I will rather go to Lidl because the cashiers are faster and more efficent.
This is my local Continente store, has a great selection of fresh food and other produce. The store is a one stop shop, you can find almost anything here that you need. There is also a Worten in the same complex so this is great if dad wants to look at some electronics whilst mum is shopping. There is a small coffee shop, which serves small snacks and great Portuguese coffee.
