Michael is our modern day Pied Piper …. Called him when I noticed the bottom of the garden had turned into a rat play park with over 10 ratties playing happily among the bird feeders . It was a delight to watch as they swung from feeder to feeder but when 2 rats became over 10 in a matter of weeks I knew an eviction notice was needed .
Michael arrived laden with dog friendly death cubes and set up. It was as if they knew he had arrived and from that moment they seemed to vanish – personably I think they followed him to his van and repatriated themselves to the leisure park. He came back weekly (on time and jovial) every week until we knew they had all gone . He doesn’t overcharge and he knows his rat facts – apparently they aren’t all called Roland and they do identify as rats .

Had a rat problem with them living under the decking in my garden.I had bird feeders which obviously attracted them. I contacted Michael having seen the recommendations and he came the next day and started the treatment process to get rid of them. His pricing is excellent and the cost includes multiple visits and treatments until the problem is resolved, so you know there’s no extra or hidden charges. He’s very friendly professional, and knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions or queries. We have an old cottage with more holes than Swiss cheese so lots of easy access points for rodents, add to that chickens in the garden and it becomes a pest control nightmare. Usually able to control it ourselves in the past, but we got feed up with hearing things running around in the loft at night with hobnail boots on !
Did quite a bit of research and liked Broadsword’s ethical approach (and their pricing). Michael is very pleasant and knowledgeable, but above all tenacious. when he says he sticks with it until the job is done he means it, and all for the original cost. Highly recommended, brilliant service.

A Gentleman arrived on time, His name Sam Hellewell, explained the procedure and what he was going to do, he inspected my loft and explained what sort of flies were there, he was very professional and polite and respectful.

I would recommend this company as he also explained to me that all the work was guaranteed, he also mentioned that if I opened the loft in a week and there was still a problem with the cluster flies the company would come out and fix the problem without charge, so I really respect that honesty,

Rang Tom in the Newbury office as a wasps nest by a window had been discovered whilst double glazers were fitting windows. Tom was very helpful and gave excellent pragmatic advice and we spoke a couple of times over a couple of days. He always rang back as agreed. An appointment was booked and Lewis (Lee?) turned up as agreed and was very engaging and practical. Not only did he treat the nest but also checked the rest of the House outside in case they had set up home elsewhere too. Very impressive genuine service at fair price. I would definitely use again. I cannot rate Kurt from Countrywide highly enough. A thoroughly good job done by him and I’m delighted with the results. Fingers crossed it remains that way! Once contact was made, appointment arranged, which was attended on time. Very knowledgeable and friendly service. Identified problem and treatment just after arriving, explained what he was doing and why. Applied treatment to get rid of a roof located wasp nest, just a couple of squirts and done. No mess, no issues, good service would recommend.
I asked Mick to check out a house we are buying that had ‘evidence of rodent activity’ highlighted in the survey. He was really helpful, professional and thorough and evidently has a lot of experience in the trade. I would have no hesitation in recommending him over some of the larger branded companies that we have used in the past.
Called to get some advice about a potential spiders nest, Mick offered very honest, helpful advice and didn’t trying to sell unnecessary treatments/ services. Much appreciated, would recommend his services.
