Or any store in Hamburg as a matter of fact
I know the bar for friendly service in Hamburg is pretty low but this was a new milestone. Unbelievable.
Best avoided if you prefer to maintain your sanity.
I’d rather order on Amazon instead of having to venture into this store again. Nie wieder mein Freund.
Before even interacting with the Bauhaus representative behind the counter it was obvious she was in a foul mood. As I could see she was busy abusing the customer in front of me. Poor guy.
Bauhaus. Please try harder.
Customer Service is not rocket science.
A very large but pretty open space that is just crammed with stuff. What at first seems to be visually overwhelming then turns out to be amazing because I got absolutely everything I needed. Which usually is a rare thing to happen at do it yourself store. I’ve spoken to three different staff members and all three where super friendly and have great advice as well as directions. In general there were a lot of people working there and even though the place w was pretty busy no one seemed to have to wait too long. Overall a very good experience. From now on this will be my first choice in Hamburg.
One of the better hardware stores.
It hosts a management office and central storage. Fairly large and well stocked shop.
Lot’s of parking space. Has a wood cutting service and tool rental. Large outdoor/gardening and building materials section for a inner city hardware store. You would have to go much further out of the city for a similar offer.
Bauhaus white label brands offers very reasonable quality for the price (by high German tool standards).

Generally very positive, but I’d like to share impressions in lockdown times:
– I really don’t get the idea of allowing people into the garden part and forbid the rest.
– the procedure of ordering online and picking up is far from being optimal, takes hours to put things together yet frequently wrong items are picked up and one has to wait in front of the store, wasting time
– many items are not available in one store but present in the others un the vicinity. It would be useful if there was a central availability for stores within an hour drive, and items could be made available with shuttles in every location, when ordered.
Big DIY store, modern, spacious with lots of choice. There is a nice parking area for visitors and a bakery in the inside if you’re hungry and want to grab a bite. Bauhaus features a big green outdoor area to buy plants and other gardening accessories. Overall good set of choice present, quite central and accessible.

You can get what ever you want for your car, bicycle, home, gardens, and so on. You will be surprised by what you see. The staff are also amazing and cooperative.
