We recently had the pleasure of being assisted by George at B&Q in Yate while searching for a solution to remove green algae from our fence posts. His thorough understanding of the products and their applications was immediately evident, and he patiently explained the best way to solve the problem. He also suggested a great product for us to use that he himself had used in the past. George also saved us a lot of future problems by advising us not to apply a waterproofing solution. What truly set George apart was his genuine interest in our project to protect our fence now and in the future and thanks to his expert guidance, we feel reassured and confident that we can eradicate the green algae and maintain our fence in the best possible way. Such miserable and unhelpful staff.
Asked to speak to the manager and he couldn’t be bothered to come out onto the shop floor. Instead had to wait for him and shop floor staff to communicate via their headsets adding an extra 10 minutes needlessly.
In the end, decided to just leave and spend my money elsewhere. Nothing worse than bad customer service and laziness. I would rather pay more and have excellent service than pay less and have bad service.
Went in for a bathroom design – Amelie was absolutely fantastic. She was so engaging, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. She designed a lovely bathroom for us so thank you.
Linda and Tasha also helped us in store today – two more great individuals. Both really helpful.

Staff always friendly and fast at getting the items or if they don’t have it, decent knowledge on alternatives they may have in stock which is very helpful. Last week i bought last 5 items of something and the young lady went the extra mile to see if she could locate one of the items which was mis-placed. In other stores they normally just say cant locate it and cant be bother but to be fair to her she found it and saved me! top work.
only negative would be the flooding outside the store which seems to always happen and not much is done about it to correct it happening! HQ if your reading this sort it out for them so customers can get access when its heavy rain. here is a picture. Even so still not gonna drop the star! defo deserve a 5 star from me.
Screwfix Yate is ideal for any Handyman, Professional or Amateur. The shop is open later than Toolstation across the road which is a bonus if you are strapped for time in the evening. It is great that you can check Screwfix stock online before travelling. Customer service was good and courteous. Parking no problem. They now have self service terminals instead of the old paper and pencil slips which they used to use. Beats B&Q hands down for price and stock availability.
The store is great. The staff are helpful. Best to order online for pickup. Easier than ordering in store currently as there are no terminals, but you can order there if you need to. Parking remains a pain in the neck with only 2 spaces, officially, so vans block you in, park I considerately etc all the time. Not a lot they can do, but aggrevating.

Wasn’t needed don’t have a dog it’s just Marston bailiffs ramping up the bill Keith taylor 2102 Marston bailifes neither was the locksmith needed left me with a bill of PS1861.32 who’s going to pay this if I buy a car the bailiffs will turn up and take it now consigned to the dole or prison the law allows it’s legalized theft
