Awful service. I hired a shredder from them, it came and was faulty. They sent a replacement out the next day and again it was faulty, blunt blade. They obviously do not check the units before they send them out. I am only trying to shred small branches and leaves from a laurel bush so I’m not using it for anything it shouldn’t be. I called them up and was being passed around to different branches, I wanted to raise a complaint as I felt the service was poor but was at first told there is no complaint procedure within this company. I then went on to a branch manager, again I said I wanted to raise a complaint, he said a complaint will be raised and I asked if I will be notified of a resolution, he said the resolution is that I will be refunded, which I do not think is an acceptable resolution as I took a day off work to do this job and I have been massively inconvenienced. I have worked in customer service for years and I have never been with or encountered a company where there is no proper complaint procedure in place. For a company the size of HSS it’s absolutely laughable, it’s honestly the worst customer service I have ever received and I will never recommend this cowboy of a company. I will be taking this to trading standards as they have not delivered on their promise as a company and have taken no actions in resolving the issue. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Ordered rotavator for delivery Wednesday morning. Still no sign Wed afternoon. Called up and waited an age for the phone to be answered. Then got told it hadn’t been delivered because no one had called me to ask for my ID (thanks for that!). They then said it would now be Thu before they would get it to me but they would put me down for an early delivery so I would get it first thing.

Gone 10am Thu I get a call from the branch to say my order is ready to collect from the branch (I asked for delivery on my order and had confirmed again on the phone Wed).

So now got to wait again while they get round to organising a delivery.

When you speak to people they are nice but the way things are run is an absolute shambles.

Will definitely be avoiding HSS in future.

We did our PASMA course here, our instructor was great, super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere on site was great and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were perfect for what was needed.
