SHOCKING discovery !! My husband and I went to this SPAR. We bought what we thought was fresh Chicken, but indeed in was not!
When I opened the chicken at home I almost passed out of the terrible smell. It was horrific to say the least. The chicken was indeed off.
I then looked at the label again and saw that there were 2 stickers on the package.
The top label shows the Sell By Date as 4/12/2021. When I lifted this label up to see what was under that label, it clearly has a label that shows the Sell By Date as 26/11/2021.
I was shocked and could not believe my eyes! As far as I know it is against the law to tamper with a Sell By date or Expiring date.
What upsets me the most is that I went all the way from Marloth Park to Komatipoort to buy this chicken, just to find out that I was cheated.
This is an absolute disgrace and who ever did this should be fired on the spot! Many people buying this chicken could get VERY SICK and even die of food poisoning.

It’s a pleasure to do one’s shopping at the Spar complex being the best in town their service is top class the staff very friendly the place neat and tidy and the manager very very friendly and professional he is always welcoming the customers making sure that we get our requirements met I for one haven’t a manager like Peter anywhere it’s a great pleasure to have someone like him in my 30 years of shopping at Spar he is one of a kind. Caring loving and respectful.

We ordered Portuguese tarts on Monday for collection today
Miguel and Prudence were absolute stars even phoning us to tell us that the baking maybe a bit delayed due to loadshedding
They were ready for collection when we arrived from Kruger

Wonderful assistance from Securicon on 2 occasions during our stay. The first was advice on where to find medical assistance, the second was when our car broke down in Kruger. We contacted Securicon to seek advice on a possible shuttle service we could use. The owner, Gerhard, and his manager, apologies in the excitement I have forgotten your name, promptly drove from Komatipoort to Croc Bridge, and shuttled us to our accomodation. With a follow up call the next morning to check whether we were managing. Thabk you, excellent people and company!

Two maniacs this morning 19/08/22, were chasing a minibus taxi which was full of commuters, reason being the minibus driver overtook them since they were driving slow 40km in a 80zone (wth).
The officer which was driving the single cab bakkie KNN…. slammed the back of the minibus by the Valley hyper as a commuter was getting off.
This resulted negatively to people who’d be interested in the services of this company if their employees behave like this publicly.

Very misleading. Get charged for services not rendered when the new battery runs out due to no power in town. When you however do need them they take forever to respond.

This store has a lot on offer. I felt that it was very cramped. The layout of the store has a bit of an odd flow to the shopping experience. This being said, you can get just about all your essentials in this one store. The pricing is very competitive and there were quite a few specials on offer when we visited. There are a lot of till points to keep customers moving quickly.

first of all they turned me back because i couldn’t buy or pay if i dont have their shoprite savings card this is bad because if u dont have the savings card you must turn back because they cannot sell anything to you .. so what if am from another country? an i dont have the savings card i must not buy anything? please fix this !!

Till packers are thieves!
Don’t waste your time going to Shoprite Komatipoort…they will steal your groceries after you’ve paid for them at the tills.
Better off going to Spar…more expensive but at least their till packers don’t steal from you…

Worst customer treatment ever!

I purchased items worth R200 from shoprite Tonga and tapped my card to pay for my items. The teller who was assisting me NEVER gave me a slip. When I got to the security, they requested a slip and I told them it was never given to me. They told me to go back and get a reprint. When I got to the teller who assisted she rudely told me that I lost the slip and I must check where I put it knowing very well she never gave it to me. They caused a scene and made me seem unreasonable so that upset me. I am annoyed by how the matter was handled.

Poorest service ever looked for someone to weigh bananas so that I can pay but was unlucky most of them said it was not ther department the assistant manager was very reluctant to assist.if you you dnt want to work let the over 40% unemployed get the jobs .happy customers, more turnover for the company

This place doesn’t remove rotten fruit from their refrigerator, they let them stay there with the hope that someone will buy them without noticing. If you want fresh fruit, this place is definitely not ideal for you
